Ramadan Bazaar at Serian Commercial Centre gets underway

SERIAN, March 23: Some 64 stalls selling a variety of foods and drinks are available at at the Ramadan Bazaar in Serian Commercial Centre.

According to Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, the bazaar is jointly organised by Serian District Council and Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Islam Serian (LAKIS).


At the launching of the bazaar today, John said he was proud to note that the bazaar was not only for Muslims and Malays, but participated by other races and faiths as well.

“This is the beauty of the people in Sarawak, where we live in solidarity and harmony.

“I am particularly proud and touched with the cooperation that we have here,” John said.

He also said that it was the first time that LAKIS was involved in the bazaar held at Serian Commercial Centre, with ample parking lots for the convenience of the visitors.

He also said the organisers received more than 90 applications from stall operators for the bazaar. — DayakDaily
